Saturday April 26th, 2008

World Tai Chi and Qigong Day (WTCQD) is an annual event held the last Saturday of April each year to promote the related disciplines of tai chi and qigong. It begins at
Cancer CD image 10:00 a.m. in New Zealand and spreads by time zone around the world, ending in Hawaii . Several hundred cities in at least sixty nations participate, with celebrations including exhibitions and free classes.

WTCQD began in 1998 outside the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in
Kansas City , U.S.A. , where the Kansas City Tai Chi Club held a large teaching exhibition. CNN Headline News covered the event, which has been celebrated globally ever since.

Locally, Three Treasures Wellness Center of Brazil, Indiana, is sponsoring a free celebration of this event. It will be held on April 26th (the tenth anniversary of WTCQD) from
10 a.m. to 12 p.m.Chris Leininger a Certified Level III Instructor and Clinical Qigong Practitioner with the National Qigong Association will be the keynote speaker and lead instructor.
